The origins of Blue Water Cleaning developed during the 2009 Volvo Ocean Race when Mike de Ravel, working as the Operations Manager for the Race Village of the Cape Town Stop-over, recognised the lack
of reliable service delivery from cleaning contractors.
Mike began discussions with a friend of his, Andre Ntambwe. Andre has a history of fours years experience (including management) in the cleaning industry with one of the larger cleaning companies, and now runs a
NGO aimed at providing employment opportunities for some of Cape
Town's poorest people.
Driven by a frustration over poor service delivery and a deep desire to make a difference in this country,
particularly in the lives of the poor, the pair soon teamed up and formed Blue Water Cleaning; a company
primarily aimed at providing clients with a reliable and quality level of cleaning excellence whilst also
aiming to uplift the poor.
